1) Rebels: The main thing that the people in this group have in common is the need to rebel. This can be because of an insecurity or just extreme aggression. Mainly they rebel by smoking, insulting others, or even drinking. Rebels can be passive, aggressive, assertive, and anything in between. Some of them can be quite nice, but trouble seems to follow them like a lost puppy. There is not a lot of inter-clique mingling with this group. They tend to make fun of most of the other groups. If you do manage to become friends with a rebel try to use positive reinforcement do not nag them about their bad habits. Usually they are irritable, but just try to be nice and you should be fine. Sadly to become a part of this group you may have to make it sound like you did something risky. Rebels usually date other rebels and loners.
2) Artsies: This group is brought together by their extreme need for individuality, although because there are so many of them their similarities make them a group. It's kind of funny that their extreme lust for individuality is stopping them from becoming truly individual. Most of the people in this group are overly nice and get along with almost every clique, although their relationship with the populars is a little strained. To get along with this group just be yourself. This is a good group of friends to share whatever ideas you have they will probably encourage you, or at least give feed back. Random comments that come out of nowhere are encouraged, and can probably cement a place for you in the clique. Artsies date any clique except jocks.
3) Nerds: There are some nerds who just think highly of themselves because of their intelligence, but cool nerds like me don't rub their smarts in the faces of others. Some of us are quite sociable, and our personalities somewhat resemble the Artsies. To make friends with a nerd spew out some little known trivia, be forewarned we will probably retaliate with more trivia on the subject. You don't necessarily have to have good grades to be a nerd, we are genuinely accepting and will probably be friends with you if you're nice to us.
4) Populars: The people in this clique are a little prissy, and for them friend does not always imply a long term relationship. While they are usually not seen hanging around with nerds, loners or rebels they can be nice once you get to know them. Being slightly shallow and not the brightest they are the top pick for jock relationships. Most people belonging to this group are there because they knew the right people. When trying to join a popular group remember it's all about who you know, but try to have a group of friends to fall back on, because popularity is fickle.
5) Jocks: A group made up of mainly sporty guys who like to stick to themselves. Turns out jocks can be pretty smart, because there are quite a few of them in my honours classes. They have a tendency to joke too much and can be insulting. They are narcissistic and if you're dating one they may forget about your feelings. If you are in any group other than popular chances are you won't have to worry about dating one. If you want to join this group just find a sport that you're good at and work hard at it.
6) Loners: Technically this clique is not a group, because loners don't hang out with one another a lot. Mostly they keep to themselves and are quiet. Their behaviour could be because of a bad situation or shyness. I encourage everyone to talk to these people and regularly invite them to outings. At first they may be a little stand offish but you may make an impact and brighten up their life, or at least their day.
Some people have trouble fitting in one group and prefer flitting between groups. I highly recommend this, because you get to know more people, and in some cases you get to know yourself more. These are just generalities that do not provide a solid definition. Do not let my definitions define you, but help your social life blossom.

Doctor Who Quote
Two quotes from the fourth doctor. A quote about math and a quote about Shakespeare. This is just awesome.
The Doctor: [To a skull] Awww! Would you like a jelly baby? No, I don't suppose you would. Alas. Poor skull.
The Doctor: Well, I just put 1.795372 and 2.204628 together. Romana I: And what does that mean? The Doctor: [grinning wildly] Four!
LOL
ReplyDeleteMath and Shakespeare combined - isn't that the final sign of the oncoming apocalypse?
